Jamie! Thanks for your time, I want to start by congratulating you on the new HQ – it’s been great watching your progress with FYD on your channel. It’s folks like you that inspire me to work on cars and have my own brand! So let’s get started…
What got you into cars and car culture?
I grew up with a fascination with cars. I think the first time i really got into cars was when i saw my first low rider, I couldn’t believe that this was what people had as cars! So from there I was hooked!
Your channels seen you driving some awesome cars from a variety of different cultures and styles – have any stood out as your favourite?
I think every car i've featured has its own good points, as for a favourite car I don’t really have one. I just have favourite experiences in the cars. nothing car beat a good handling with a good b-road.
In an article for the Isle of Wight County Press you said that 18 months ago (then) you were in a considerably different position in life. You’ve made a name in such a short space of time – what’s that journey been like?
It's been mad, I just tried to focus on what makes me happy and see were it went. I'm still in shock and don’t really believe it's a reality ha!
Like with any enthusiast you’ve had to sacrifice a car to get a new project – is there a ride you regret selling most?
My 1966 Cadillac Coupe Deville - Was my dream car, but I wanted to pursue the brand and the channel so i gave that up to chase it.
Getting FYD HQ up and running must have been a mammoth task to accomplish; now it’s good to go do you have any more big plans for the future?
Im always looking to improve and work toward the next step, there is always something I’m working towards. The future plans I have for everything are massive so every day I’m working towards those goals.
What advice would you give to an aspiring content creator looking to get into YouTube and their own brand?
Just go out there and try it out, Work on what you think is right and it will happen.
The UK has some great car YouTubers (yourself included!), is there any chance of collaboration in the future?
Of cause! Im always looking to collaborate with people that i look up to - After all I’m a massive youtube fan myself!
Will you be making an appearance at any events this year?
Yes definitely, as many as I can.
Have you got any favourite content creators? Give ‘em a shout out!
Taylor Ray to name a few...
Dream 3-car garage?
1964 Chevrolet impala, Lexus LFA and some sort of fancy car (Rolls Royce) or a big truck and a ‘daily’ ha!
Thanks again for this Jamie, it’s a big help and it’s always great talking to people in the forefront of the scene!
